A Shark air purifier is equipped with a filter. This filter must be replaced regularly, because they get dirty. With many Shark air purifiers you can view the current life of the filter, so you know when to replace it.
However, it is important that you reset the lifespan when you have installed a new filter. In this manual I tell you how to reset a Shark air purifier filter.
Why is the lifespan of a Shark air purifier filter so important?
As I just indicated, a Shark air purifier is equipped with a filter. It often involves several filters: there is a pre-filter, a HEPA filter and in some cases even an active carbon filter. Contaminated particles and odors can be filtered out of the air with the help of these filters.
A filter has to endure a lot of dirt: it can become clogged and even wear out. Shark’s air purifier filters are not washable and should be replaced regularly. It is important to keep an eye on the lifespan of the Shark air purifier filters. This prevents you from taking too long with a filter, which can cause problems.
Problems if you don’t replace the filter in time
If a Dyson air purifier filter is not replaced in time, this can have annoying consequences for the performance of the air purifier. Let me list a few problems:
- The Shark air purifier can filter the air less well
- The air purifier can start to smell or spread unpleasant odors
- The life of the device can decrease rapidly
- The air purifier may start to make more noise than usual
It is therefore very important to regularly check the lifespan of the Shark air purifier filter and to replace the filter in time. Never done that before? See how to replace a Shark air purifier filter.
How do you reset a Shark air purifier?
After replacing a Shark air purifier filter, you must of course inform the air purifier that a new filter has been installed. This allows the purifier to start monitoring the filter life again.
Resetting a Shark air purifier filter is very simple. Although there are many Shark air purifiers, resetting works much the same. Follow the steps below:
- Turn on the Shark air purifier
- Press the filter icon and hold the button for at least 3 seconds
- Wait until you hear a sound signal
After the sound signal, the reset of the air purifier filter has been successful. You can check this by clicking on the filter button, after which you should see 100% appear in the display.
